Report: Spurs-linked manager is now expected to be available this summer

Sky Germany have revealed that Tottenham’s rumoured managerial target, Oliver Glasner, is expected to leave Eintracht Frankfurt this summer.

Glasner, who guided Frankfurt to Europe League glory last season, is said to be one of the names on Spurs’ shortlist to replace Antonio Conte but the Austrian is not expected to leave Frankfurt until the end of the season (Fabrizio Romano –YouTube channel).

The Austrian coach is also thought to be on Chelsea’s radar, with the West London club allegedly first approaching him last summer (Bild).

Journalist Florian Plettenberg revealed a couple of days ago that Frankfurt are keen to tie the 48-year-old down to a new contract amidst interest from England.

Sky Germany have now explained that the Bundesliga club’s efforts to secure Glasner to a new deal have not proven successful.

The former Wolfsburg boss, whose current contract runs out in 2024, is thought to have informed Eintracht that he wants to take some time before making a decision over the future.

The report adds that the current expectation is for Glasner to ‘say goodbye’ to Deutsche Bank Park this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

I think Glasner would be on the radars of several midtable Premier League clubs this summer, with the likes of Crystal Palace, West Ham and Leeds likely to be on the lookout for a new manager.

However, I do not think Spurs and Chelsea would seriously consider giving the job to the Austrian.
