Report: Spurs-linked midfielder expected to leave club for free this summer

German news outlet Sport1 have claimed that rumoured Tottenham target Corentin Tolisso is expected to leave Bayern Munich this summer.

Tolisso initially struggled for regular game time under Julian Nagelsmann his season, having made just 13 league appearances, with the majority of those coming from the bench (Transfermarkt).

CalcioMercato previously reported that Fabio Paratici had made contact with the 27-year-old’s entourage over a potential move to North London.

The French international’s current deal at the Allianz Arena runs out at the end of the season but German publication Kicker reported in January that Bayern do not wish to let him leave for free and were prepared to offer him a new contract.

However, if Sport 1’s latest update is to be believed, Nagelsmann wants to freshen up his options in the middle of the park this summer.

It is claimed that Tolisso is one of two midfielders who is expected to leave the Bundesliga giants when the transfer window reopens.

Spurs Web Opinion

I am sceptical about whether Tolisso would be an upgrade over the options we have in midfield. However, he would be a useful squad player and the fact that he could be available for free might tempt Spurs into making an offer to the Frenchman.
