Tottenham Hotspur will be able to land Angers midfielder Baptiste Santamaria for just £13 million according to reports from France.
Santamaria has been impressive in his defensive midfield role at the Stade Raymond Kopa and, as such, it’s little surprise to see him being linked with a switch to the Premier League.
The Express reported last month that Spurs and Leicester were both interested in bringing the midfielder to the Premier League.
The Frenchman’s agent, Yves Le Mee, has already hinted that he could leave Angers this season (Si Gonfia La Rete on Radio Marte, 28 April, 6.30pm). while manager Stephane Moulin has also admitted that he will powerless to stop the midfielder if he wants to leave (Ouest France).
Le10Sport now reveal that Santamaria has an agreement in place with Angers to leave this summer and that the club will accept an offer of around £13million for his services.
The report also claims that Nice are keen on landing the midfielder with manager Patrick Vieira said to be a fan of Santamaria.
Spurs Web Opinion
Santamaria is a terrific talent as anyone who watches Ligue 1 can attest to. He could certainly be an asset for us but he will be a more risky acquisition than someone like Hojbjerg who is proven in the Premier League. While I am not sure we will prioritise a move for Santamaria, I would be surprised if no Premier League club takes a punt on him this summer.
