Report: Spurs-linked midfielder has his eye on Barcelona transfer instead

Juventus midfielder is keen to make Barcelona his next club despite interest from a host of clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, according to Spanish news outlet Sport.

The French international is reported to also be on the radar of not only Spurs but also fellow Premier League clubs Arsenal and Liverpool (90min).

Rabiot is out of contract at the end of the current campaign and is not expected to leave during next month’s transfer window and instead and has decided to leave the Serie A giants in the summer as a free agent.

The 27-year-old was said to have snubbed a move to Tottenham back in 2018 while Mauricio Pochettino was in charge and he was playing for Paris Saint-Germain, with ESPN claiming a source close to the player had said that Tottenham were considered “below” his standards.

Tottenham will struggle to bring Rabiot to the club in the summer if he leaves as a free agent with many clubs across the continent prepared to offer a far more attractive salary than what Daniel Levy is prepared to offer new recruits.

Based on previous history, the Frenchman is not exactly going to have his head turned by a move to north London when the likes of Barcelona could be in the hunt for his services.
