Report: Spurs-linked midfielder is tempted by idea of free transfer to the PL

Tutto Juve have revealed that rumoured Tottenham target, Adrien Rabiot, looks set to leave Juventus on a free transfer this summer.

Until last summer, it seemed like Rabiot’s career was heading nowhere, with the midfielder largely flattering to deceive since his move from Paris Saint-Germain to Turin.

However, the Frenchman has managed to turn things around this season, having been one of Juve’s most consistent performers so far across 2022-23.

The 28-year-old also impressed at the World Cup with Les Blues, who finished runners-up in Qatar.

Rabiot’s future is up in the air, with his current contract at the Allianz Stadium running out in June (Transfermarkt).

Gazzetta Dello Sport reported back in February that Spurs hold an interest in the former PSG star and that the North London club are keeping a close eye on his contract situation.

Tutto Juve have now revealed that Rabiot is ‘tempted’ by the prospect of moving to the Premier League in the summer.

The report alleges that Juve cannot afford to match the kind of salary that some English clubs can offer the midfielder, which is why his future in Turin is in major doubt.

The outlet makes no mention of Spurs but asserts that Man Utd, Newcastle, Arsenal and PSG are ‘ready to go on the offensive’ for Rabiot.

I suspect it was Paratici who was driving Tottenham’s interest in Rabiot, with the Italian being instrumental in taking the midfielder to Juve in the first place.

However, with the 50-year-old’s future in North London now seemingly in major doubt, it remains to be seen if the Frenchman would still be on the club’s summer shortlist.
