Report: Spurs-linked player would jump at a senior chance in the Premier League

The Athletic have suggested that Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher would jump at the chance to join Tottenham if he was offered the number one shirt at the North London club.

Kelleher has impressed whenever called upon over recent years but his opportunities at Anfield have been limited, with Alisson Becker ahead of him in the pecking order.

The Irish Independent reported earlier this month that Tottenham are eyeing the 24-year-old as an option to take over the gloves from Hugo Lloris this summer while the Reds star was also said to be on the radars of both Brighton and Brentford.

Jurgen Klopp has dismissed suggestions that Kelleher could leave Liverpool this summer, telling The Daily Mail earlier this week that it would take a substantial offer to prise away the goalkeeper.

However, if The Athletic’s latest update is to be believed, the Irish goalkeeper would jump at the chance to be number one at another Premier League club.

The outlet also names Spurs, Brentford and Brighton as the three clubs interested in Kelleher but adds that none of those clubs have made any formal offers so far.

Kelleher is a talented goalkeeper but I would be surprised if Tottenham are looking at him as an option for the number-one spot.

The Lilywhites will want someone experienced at the top level such as David Raya or Andre Onana to take over the gloves from Lloris.
