Rumoured Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Ivan Perisic will inform Inter Milan of a decision over his footballing future at the Serie A club before the end of the weekend, according to Sky Sport Italia.
The report claims that today will be a key day in the Croatian’s decision over whether to extend his time at the San Siro, with his current deal set to expire this summer.
Inter are said to have tabled an improved contract offer on Monday worth around €5 million (£4.2 million) net per season plus add-ons, which is closer to the €6million (£5.1 million) he has asked for during negotiations.
The Nerazzurri are not prepared to increase their offer any further and the decision is now firmly in the hands of the player who is also attracting interest from the Premier League.
Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Tottenham and Chelsea are both keen on the 33-year-old.
ESPN have previously reported that Perisic is open to the possibility of a reunion with Antonio Conte, who he played under during their Serie A title-winning campaign in 2021/22.
Tottenham rarely would have looked to have signed a 33-year-old in the past, however, Conte is known to want to add some experience to his team and Perisic would certainly provide that.
A wing-back role has also been mooted for the Croat, who would help to add a further attacking dimension to the flank.
