Report: Spurs-linked striker could end up at Nottingham Forest or Fulham instead

Bild have named Nottingham Forest and Fulham as the two leading contenders to win the race for Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham over recent weeks.

Guirassy has been one of the most prolific strikers across Europe this season having found the back of the net 14 times in eight Bundesliga matches so far (Transfermarkt).

Forest and Fulham front-runners for Guirassy

However, Bild have now named Forest and Fulham as the two clubs vying for Guirassy’s signature and they make no mention of Spurs.

The outlet claims that both of the aforementioned clubs hold a strong interest in the player and ‘have been keeping an eye on the attacker for a long time’.

The report backs up what we have heard from other sources by stating that the centre-forward has a release clause of €17.5m (£15.3m) in his contract.

The publication adds that Stuttgart expect the clause to be met in January, which is why they have already started looking for potential replacements for their number nine.

Spurs Web Opinion

The reason top clubs do not appear to be keen on Guirassy is that he might simply have a purple patch in front of goal as his record prior to his switch to Stuttgart is quite average. Having said that, at £15m, many clubs feel that it is worth taking a punt on the 27-year-old.
