Report: Spurs-linked striker is reportedly available for £18m

Turkish publication Sabah are reporting that Fenerbahce have decided to cash in on rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Vedat Muriqi this summer.

Muriqi has been one of the standout strikers in Turkish football and given the consistent displays he has been putting in week-in and week-out at Istanbul, it is not surprising to see the striker being linked with a move to the Premier League.

Tottenham were reportedly after the Kosovan international during the January transfer window, with the North Londoners seeing their £17m offer being turned down (Turkish TV Channel A Spor via Sport Witness).

Spurs have been backed to return with another offer for the 26-year-old (Sabah) while newly-promoted West Bromwich Albion also said to be interested (Fanatik).

Sabah are now reporting that Fenerbache have made up their minds to sell Muriqi if they receive an offer of around €20 million (£18m) with the club looking to recover from the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Apart from mentioning Tottenham and West Brom, the report also claims that Napoli and Lazio could potentially make a bid for the striker ahead of next season.

Spurs Web Opinion

We were linked quite heavily with Muriqi during the January transfer window and those persisted until about April. However, the links have arguably died down a bit over the last couple of months, with strikers like Arkadiusz Milik and M’Baye Niang now being linked more heavily.

If I were to hazard a guess, I would say we were probably looking at him in January when Kane was out and we did not have many options to go for. However, a lot more strikers have now become available and new opportunities have opened up due to the financial impact of the pandemic
