Report: Spurs-linked striker open to leaving this summer, club ready to sell

According to Kicker, rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Sasa Kalajdzic is open to leaving VfB Stuttgart this summer.

Kalajdzic enjoyed a prolific 2020/21 season for Stuttgart, scoring 17 goals and providing six assists across all competitions (Transfermarkt) but the centre-forward has missed the majority of the current campaign through injury.

Despite this, he still has a decent goal return, with five goals and two assists in 14 league appearances – the majority of which have come from the bench (Transfermarkt).

The Austrian international was rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar during last summer’s transfer window (Eurosport) and reports have backed the North Londoners to reignite their interest in the 24-yea-old this summer (Kicker).

Bild reported last month that Borussia Dortmund also hold an interest in the striker, who they reportedly consider as a potential replacement for Manchester City-bound Erling Haaland.

If Kicker’s latest update is to be believed, Kalajdzic, whose contract at the Mercedes-Benz Arena runs until 2023, is open to leaving this summer.

The report adds that the Bundesliga outfit do not rule out the possibility of cashing in on the centre-forward, who they are thought to value at around €20m (£17.1m).

Spurs Web Opinion

Conte will likely want to add a backup to Harry Kane if we are to compete on multiple fronts next summer. Kalajdzic would fit the bill and be a relatively inexpensive option.

However, I suspect the Spurs might prefer a versatile striker like Depay or Martinez, who would be able to play out wide or alongside Kane if needed.
