Report: Spurs-linked winger could be on the move this summer

Rubin Kazan winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is on Tottenham’s radar is expected to be available for transfer this summer, Il Mattino have revealed.

Spurs and AC Milan were reported to both be eyeing a move for Kvaratskhelia last summer, with Sempre Milan revealing the winger was valued at around €18m (£15.5m) at the time.

Kvaratskhelia’s agent Timur Gurtskaya subsequently revealed the 20-year-old did seriously consider leaving Kazan last summer, naming Spurs among the clubs who showed an interest in his client (Sport Business).

Gazzetta dello Sport claimed earlier this month that Tottenham have already made advances towards a summer deal for the winger.

Il Mattino have named Spurs, along with Napoli and Leeds United as the three leading contenders for the Georgian international’s signature.

The report explains that the Georgian international does not wish to return to Russia following the country’s recent invasion of Ukraine and recently took advantage of UEFA’s temporary transfer window for players who wished to leave Russia, by returning on loan to his homeland to join Dinamo Batumi and is likely to be back on the market this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

Kvaratskhelia is very much a raw talent rather than a finished product and the youngster cannot be expected to hit the ground running in the Premier League if he does join in the summer. I do not see 21-year-old as being a good fit for Conte’s set-up unless the Italian has plans of converting him into a wing-back.
