Report: Spurs linked with £17m move for player who Chelsea were said to be keen on

Lille goalkeeper Mike Maignan could be available this summer for around €20 million (£17 million), according to the Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 25-year-old was earlier this linked with a potential move to Tottenham Hotspur as a successor to Hugo Lloris (L’Equipe).

Lloris made the move to North London from Lyon in 2012 and has gone on to make 363 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham (transfermarkt) and has been linked with a reunion with former boss Mauricio Pochettino at Paris Saint-Germain (Football Insider).

Maignan was linked with a move to London rivals Chelsea in a possible £27million before they instead decided to land Edouard Mendy from Rennes.

The report from the Italian news outlet claims that AC Milan are also keen on a move for Maignan if current number one Gianluigi Donnarumma decided to leave the San Siro at the end of the season when his contract expires.

Maignan has had an impressive season, having kept 16 clean sheets in 30 Ligue 1 appearances with his side currently second in the table on goal difference behind Mauricio Pochettino’s PSG (transfermarkt).
