Report: Spurs linked with £5m move for keeper who was available for free just months ago

Tottenham are said to be interested in bringing young goalkeeper Adnan Kanuric to North London in the summer, according to a report in the Daily Star (26/04/2020, p40).

Kanuric signed for Stoke City in 2018 but was released by the Potters in January after failing to make a single first-team appearance in his a year and a half at the club.

He joined Slovakian side SKF Sered in February and although the 19-year-old has played just four games for the club to date, he is said to have caught the eye (transfermarkt).

Kanuric is believed to be valued at £5million and the report claims that the Lilywhites are willing to offer him a route back to England when the transfer window opens.

Spurs could enter the market for a goalkeeper this summer with both Michel Vorm and Jonathan De Bie set to leave when their respective contracts expire (Belgian publication DH).

The report by the Daily Star claims that Tottenham face competition from AC Milan and Fiorentina for Kanuric’s signature in the summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

We have been linked with some big names so far like Andre Onana and Thomas Strakosha but I cannot see us signing someone to challenge Hugo Lloris for the number one spot this summer. A move for a young goalkeeper with potential seems a more realistic option, especially given the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
