Report: Spurs linked with a trio of players ahead of January window

Tottenham have been linked with quite a few players since Jose Mourinho took over at the helm last month.

A report by the Daily Star claims that Spurs are expected to be fairly active in the January transfer window.

While the Spurs boss has publicly insisted that he is happy with the squad at his disposal (Sky Sports), the report suggests that he has already discussed potential targets with the North London hierarchy.

The report claims that the lilywhites are likely to open their cheque book with three in particular mentioned as potential targets.

Among those mentioned are Flamengo midfielder Gerson who was previously linked to the club by 90 min and West Ham United central defender Issa Diop who was linked by Sky Sports.

The report in the Daily Star also suggests that Tottenham could make a big push for Hull City wide man Jarrod Bowen, who is said to also be on the radar of Aston Villa and Newcastle United (Daily Star).

Spurs Web Opinion

While I see the sense in signing another centre back and an attacking player, I am not convinced that we need to invest in a central midfielder. We have quite a lot of varied central midfielders at the club who aren’t being used to their full potential. I would rather see the club invest in a really top left back.
