Report: Spurs linked with loan deal for former Bayern Munich midfielder

Tottenham Hotspur are reported to have opened discussions with Inter Milan to take Ivan Perisic on loan until the end of the season.

Foot Mercato claim Spurs head coach Jose Mourinho holds ‘great interest’ in Perisic and that talks are in the early stages of being agreed.

Perisic has come close to working under Jose Mourinho in the past when the Portuguese was in charge at Old Trafford with Perisic admitting he was flattered to have been contacted by the United boss despite the transfer failing to materialise (FourFourTwo).

The Croatian international spent last season on loan at Bundesliga giants Bayern Munch where he helped the German outfit to win the Champions League.

Perisic has started in nine of Inter’s Serie A matches this season, coming off the bench in a further six and has scored one goal while setting up a further three (transfermarkt).

The 31-year-old is out of contract at the San Siro in June 2022 (transfermarkt) with Spurs still having a number of weeks before the window closes to try and get a deal secured.
