Report: Spurs linked with move for player who felt they were once beneath him

Tottenham Hotspur could be set to reignite their interest in French international Adrien Rabiot, according to Italian news outlet TuttoJuve.

The North Londoners were heavily linked with a move for the midfielder in January 2019 while he was still at Paris Saint-Germain, with PSG claiming that he believed that Spurs were below his level (ESPN).

Spurs were at the time Champions League regulars and playing an exciting brand of football under former manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Rabiot went on to join Juventus where he has made 78 appearances to date, however, the report claims that the Old Lady are ready to cash in this summer for around €15 million (£13 million) in order to raise funds for other transfer targets.

Manchester United and Barcelona are also said to be keen on the 26-year-old.

If Rabiot felt that Spurs were below him two years ago, our spectacular fall from grace certainly would put him even further out of reach if he is of the same opinion.
