Report: Spurs linked with move to trigger £11m release clause of Bundesliga player

Tottenham Hotspur are said to be weighing up a move for RB Leipzig goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi this summer, according to a report by Bild

There has been much said and written about Hugo Lloris’ future, with the 34-year-old having just over 12 months left to run on his contract in North London.

Spurs have been linked with moves for the likes of West Brom’s Sam Johnstone, Burnley’s Nick Pope and Lille’s Mike Maignan.

However, Bild suggests that the North London outfit could now turn their attention to Gulacsi, who reportedly has an £11m release clause in his RB Leipzig contract.

The Hungarian was previously on Liverpool’s books for eight years but failed to make a single first-team appearance for the Merseysiders.

The report claims that Tottenham are prepared to trigger the 30-year-old’s release clause despite the fact that they are yet to hire a permanent replacement for Jose Mourinho, who was sacked last month

It is suggested that Spurs’ interest in Gulacsi is being spearheaded by technical performance director Steve Hitchen.
