Report: Spurs linked with potential January move for Real Madrid forward

Tottenham Hotspur are being linked with a January move for Real Madrid striker Vinicius Junior.

Spanish news outlet El Desmarque claim that Spurs along with Premier League rivals Chelsea, Arsenal, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Manchester United are all interested in the 19-year-old with a loan move looking to be the most likely deal.

Tottenham are without a back up striker for Harry Kane following the double summer departure of Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen.

The Brazilian has scored two goals in fourteen appearances for Los Blancos this season but has failed to hold down a regular place in Zinedine Zidane’s starting eleven (transfermarkt).

Spurs have the highly-rated Troy Parrott within their ranks, but the 17-year-old has only made two appearances during the current campaign which came against Colchester United in the Carabao Cup followed by a five-minute appearance at the end of the 5-0 demolition of Burnley in the Premier League earlier this month.

Opinion

Spurs are able to call upon Heung-min Son to lead the line in Kane’s absence, yet there is no doubt that another striker is needed to bolster the ranks given his tendency to pick up injuries.
