Fabrizio Romano has revealed that rumoured Tottenham target Daichi Kamada is now ‘close’ to signing a contract with Borussia Dortmund.
Kamada has been one of the standout players in German football this season, with the attacking midfielder scoring 13 times in all competitions and providing five assists so far in 2022-23 (Transfermakrt).
Spurs saw first-hand what the 26-year-old is capable of, with one of those goals coming against the Lilywhites at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the group stage of the Champions League earlier this season.
With Kamada’s contract at Eintracht Frankfurt running out in June, unsurprisingly, a whole host of clubs from the Premier League and around Europe, including Spurs, were said to be exploring a move for the midfielder (90 min).
However, Romano’s latest update comes as a potential blow to Spurs, with the journalist taking to social media to reveal that the Frankfurt star has verbally agreed on a five-year deal with Dortmund.

Spurs Web Opinion
Kamada would have been an excellent addition for Spurs, given his versatility. However, I am not surprised that the 27-year-old has chosen to remain in the Bundesliga as it is a league that suits him to the ground.
If Conte does want to add a number eight to the squad in the summer, Spurs will likely have to turn to one of Maddison, Kessie or Kudus.
