Report: Spurs looking at £40m-rated Serie A forward ahead of potential summer move

Tottenham Hotspur are one of several clubs vying to sign Napoli forward Arkadiusz Milik in the summer, according to reports emerging out of Italy.

Spurs’ failure to sign a forward in the January transfer window looks like it might cost them dearly this season, as they have struggled for goals in light of the injuries to the likes of Harry Kane and Heung-min Son.

The club are expected to land a striker when the transfer market reopens in the summer with Calcio Napoli 24 claiming that Milik is one of the players Jose Mourinho is eyeing up.

The Polish forward has netted twelve goals in twenty-two appearances in all competitions so far this season (transfermarkt), but is backed to leave Naples at the end of the campaign.

The Seria A club are said to be demanding around €45 million for the 26-year-old’s services.

Tottenham could face a lot of competition for Milik’s signature if the report is to be believed, with Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Valencia and Borussia Dortmund also said to be keen on landing the experienced forward.

Spurs Web Opinion

I believe Milik fits the profile of what we need as he can play as a target man and thus offer us a plan B which we’ve lacked since letting Fernando Llorente leave. I think the Polish striker can be a great addition to the squad but it remains to be seen if he will be willing to play a bit-part role with us.
