Report: Spurs looking at four other managers after Nagelsmann update

According to a report in The Independent, Tottenham Hotspur are set to turn their attentions to their other managerial targets as Bayern Munich announced Julian Nagelsmann as their new boss this morning.

Multiple sources (TelegraphDaily MailGuardian) have reported that Nagelsmann was the man Daniel Levy wanted to bring to Spurs as Jose Mourinho’s replacement.

It was suggested that the North Londoners were confident of being able to snap up the German coach at one stage, who was said to be keen on managing in the Premier League.

However, The Independent now reveal that although Nagelsmann had expressed a desire to take the Tottenham job, he only did so to flush out other suitors.

The report explains that the RB Leipzig boss has his eye on the Bayern Munich job all along and made it clear that he wanted to leave the Red Bull Arena at the end of the season.

Spurs will now reportedly turn their attentions to the other names on their radar, namely Brendan Rodgers, Graham Potter, Roberto Martinez and Scott Parker.

Spurs Web Opinion

I cannot see Spurs being able to convince Rodgers to abandon his project at Leicester. Among the other names mentioned, I believe Scott Parker is the most promising candidate.

While the former Spurs midfielder would be a risky choice due to his relative lack of experience, his style would fit in with the club’s ethos and he would be more willing than most to trust the young talent coming through the ranks.

The main issue without appointing Parker is that he is not the sort of big-name that is likely to convince the likes of Kane and Son that the club is moving in the right direction.
