Report: Spurs looking ‘favourably’ at Villarreal’s Lo Celso offer of just £12.5m

According to Marca, Villarreal have made an offer to sign Giovani Lo Celso on an initial loan deal with an obligation to make it permanent for €15m (£12.5m).

The report claims that Lo Celso, who is surplus to requirements at Tottenham, is Unai Emery’s number one target this summer after his loan spell at the club in the second half of last season left ‘a good taste in the mouth’.

It is asserted that Spurs ‘look favourably’ on the La Liga club’s latest offer, with the midfielder’s desire to move to Villarreal said to be working in the Spanish side’s favour.

Marca claim that Lo Celso is desperate to return to the Yellow Submarine as he knows he will be a regular starter for the club, which can in turn help ensure he remains a vital part of Argentina’s set-up for the World Cup.

This report comes after Calciomercato.it claimed on Monday that the race for the Tottenham midfielder’s signature is wide open and Fiorentina and Napoli were eyeing moves for the Argentine.

Spurs Web Opinion

I have been convinced from the outset that Lo Celso will return to Villarreal this summer as that seems to be the midfielder’s clear preference. Hopefully, the negotiations do not drag on for too long and the sale is completed within the next few days.
