Report: Spurs ‘made reservations’ to scout 25-year-old this weekend

Turkish outlet Milliyet have revealed that ahead of Galatasaray’s clash against Besiktas, Tottenham Hotspur planned to send scouts to watch Kerem Akturkoglu in action.

Akturkoglu has gone from strength to strength over the last couple of years and following the winger’s impressive start to the season, it has emerged that Spurs are now keeping close tabs on him.

It was reported by Fotomac at the start of the month that the pacey wide-man’s displays had caught the attention of the North London club, who were said to be keeping a close eye on him ahead of the January window.

Last week Fotospor also credited both Spurs and West Ham with an interest in Akturkoglu and suggested that the player has no intention of signing a new contract at Galatasaray.

Milliyet reported ahead of the weekend that four officials from Tottenham were expected at RAMS Park for the big Istanbul derby on Saturday.

It is explained that both Spurs and Atletico Madrid had ‘made reservations’ for the clash to take a closer look at Akturkoglu.

The 25-year-old played 85 minutes as Galatasaray emerged with a 2-1 win, owing to a Mauro Icardi brace.

All the speculation linking t Akturkoglu with a move to Spurs have come from Turkish outlets so far. There have been no suggestions by the likes of Alasdair Gold, Dan Kilpatrick, Charlie Eccleshare and others that the winger is anywhere near the top of the club’s wishlist.
