Report: Spurs make an official offer for Chelsea man

According to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira (as relayed by Sports Mole), Tottenham Hotspur have now made an official bid to sign Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger.

Sky Sports reported a few days ago that Spurs could turn their attentions to Rudiger after being left frustrated in their attempts to sign Milan Skrniair.

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has since revealed the Inter defender remains Tottenham’s main target but he too confirmed that Spurs were considering Rudiger as a backup option.

However, Gold also insisted that any deal for the Chelsea defender would be complicated to get over the line.

Frank Lampard has remained tight-lipped over the 27-year-old’s future, despite the player not featuring for the Blues so far this season (Daily Star).

Nicolo Schira now claims that Spurs have made a loan offer to sign the centre-back, who the Blues are looking to move on before Monday’s deadline.

It is claimed that Tottenham want to sign the German international on a season-long loan deal with an option to make it permanent next summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

If we cannot get the Skriniar deal over the line, I would be happy to see Juan Foyth stay and for him and Japhet Tanganga to cover the fourth centre-back role between them. I do not want Rudiger at Spurs because I believe he is liable to lapses in concentration and often makes unforced errors.
