Report: Spurs make contact for 31-goal striker; prepared to pay £20.7m amid Kane uncertainty

Tottenham Hotspur have made contact with FC Porto over a move for striker Mehdi Taremi amid the ongoing uncertainty over the future of Harry Kane, according to Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

Spurs are reportedly ready to offer €24m (£20.7m) for the Iranian international, while Porto are asking for a fee of €30m (£25.9m)

Taremi scored 31 goals in 51 games last season across all competitions, helping Porto to a domestic double after they lifted both the Portuguese Cup and League Cup.

Could Mehdi Taremi be lined up ahead of Harry Kane’s exit?

He has just a year left on his contract with the Portuguese giants and despite the clock ticking down on his existing deal, they are set to net a healthy profit on the £4.25m they paid Rio Ave for the striker back in 2020 (The Sun).

Tottenham could be in the market for a new forward soon with Bayern Munich having tabled an improved offer worth more than €100m euros (£86.24m) with add-ons included for Harry Kane and are expecting a quick decision from Daniel Levy on if he is to sanction the sale of the club record goalscorer (Sky Sports).
