According to SportBILD (12/04/23 as relayed by Sport Witness), Tottenham have now reached out to RB Leipzig regarding a potential deal for Dani Olmo this summer.
Olmo has endured a frustrating season so far, having missed significant chunks of the 2022-23 campaign due to multiple injuries.
The winger’s future at the Red Bull Arena is up in the air as he is about the enter the final year of his contract this June (Transfermarkt).
Sport Bild state that the attacking midfielder will be sold by Leipzig this summer if he does not put pen to paper on a new deal.
Olmo is thought to be contemplating his future, with the player said to be ‘leaning more and more’ towards a move away from the Bundesliga club.
The report claims that although the 24-year-old would prefer to move to La Liga, he is now ‘considering’ enquiries from Premier League clubs, with Spurs alleged to be one of the teams to have enquired about his future plans.
SportBild add that Leipzig value Olmo at around €40m (£35.2m) but their valuation is expected to drop if they fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Spurs Web Opinion
It does not make sense to speculate too much on who Tottenham’s top summer targets are, given that the club do not appear any closer to appointing a new manager or a director of football.
At the least, we would have to wait for the result of Paratici’s appeal and can perhaps only proceed with our transfer plans if the Italian’s ban is overturned, thus allowing him to resume his role as Tottenham’s managing director.
