Report: Spurs make contact with Fiorentina for 23-year-old

Tottenham Hotspur have made an enquiry to Fiorentina for goalkeeper Bartłomiej Drągowski, according to Viola News.

Fellow Premier League clubs, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Southampton and West Ham United are also said to have made contact with the Serie A outfit for the Polish international.

Drągowski, 23, made 36 appearances in the Italian top flight last season, picking up one red card in the process (transfermarkt).

Tottenham’s current number one Hugo Lloris has twelve months remaining on his current contract and the club captain avoided giving a clear answer upfront on his future ahead of Euro 2020 when he claimed he would only speak about his plans after his involvement at the tournament comes to a close (Nice-Matin).

A return to France has been reported previously with moves to both Nice and PSG mentioned as possible destinations for the 34-year-old.

SpursWeb Opinion

We have much bigger concerns in this summer’s transfer market than the addition of a goalkeeper, even if Lloris was to leave, we still have Joe Hart at the club as an able deputy.

Recruiting a new right-back, central defender, creative midfielder and forward needs to be the priority.
