Tottenham Hotspur have made contact with Inter Milan to enquire about the availability of right wing-back Denzel Dumfries, according to 90min.
Spurs are on the hunt for a new right-wing back in the January transfer window with one of Emerson Royal or Matt Doherty likely to be sold, while Djed Spence could head out on loan for some much-needed regular first-team football.
Inter are likely to want to offload the Dutch international and loan him back for the remainder of the season while Spurs are keen for him to link up in north London immediately.
The Serie A outfit need to sell one of their key players to ease their financial woes and it had originally looked as if Milan Skriniar would be the player to depart, however, the central defender is now expected to sign a new contract.
I’d prefer to see Emerson head out of the exit in N17 rather than Doherty, at least the Republic of Ireland international has shown he is capable of contributing in the attacking third of the pitch while Emerson continues to baffle Spurs fans with his selection in the team.
Dumfries would help to add an attack-minded focus to the right flank, something which has been lacking with Antonio Conte continuing to persevere with the Brazilian.
