Report: Spurs make decision over whether to appeal Son red card

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly decided whether they will appeal the Heung Min Son red card brandished at the forward after a challenge he made on Andre Gomes yesterday.

The challenge, along with Gomes’ foot catching on the turf and Serge Aurier’s clattering tackle, resulted in a horrific ankle injury for the Everton man.

He was later stretchered off and taken straight to hospital, with many of his teammates, Spurs players, and the nearby crowd unable to look at the injury.

It was later revealed that the player had suffered a broken and dislocated right ankle (Sun).

Heung Min Son was left in a pile of tears out of remorse as he was sent into the changing rooms by the referee Martin Atkinson.

Spurs had until today (Monday) at 1 pm to lodge an appeal for wrongful dismissal with the FA. The Standard have reported that the club were set to do so, with a decision expected in midweek.

I believe it should be rescinded and changed to a yellow, but I can’t see it happening.
