Report: Spurs make move to snap up striker from under Serie A giant’s noses

The latest reports from France indicate that Tottenham Hotspur are making a last-ditch attempt to steal Victor Osimhen from under Napoli’s noses.

The Lille striker, who has had a sensational debut season in Ligue 1 has reportedly been on Spurs’ radar since the January transfer window (Sky Sports).

Reports previously indicated that the North Londoners had made a £62million offer to sign the Lille star this summer (Radio Kiss Kiss via Area Napoli).

However, it looked like Napoli had won the race for the 21-year-old with reports indicating that Osimhen was set to complete a move to Gennaro Gattuso side. (Sky Sport Italia via Goal.com).

It now looks like the Lilywhites have made another attempt to land the Nigerian international after his proposed move to Naples reportedly experienced issues.

French journalist Manu Lonjon has claimed that Osimhen is set to hold talks with Tottenham in the next 48 hours before deciding on his next destination.

Meanwhile, RMC Sport’s Mohamed Bouhafsi has revealed that Napoli still need to sort out a few details to complete the transfer, which they hope to do in the next 48 hours.

Bouhafsi suggests that Tottenham and one other unnamed English club are trying to take advantage of the delay and move for the striker.

However, the Serie A giants are said to be confident of completing the deal.

The fact that multiple reliable sources are reporting this, suggests that there is some truth to the reports. While I am not surprised that Tottenham are keen on Osimhen, given that Joao Sacramento has worked closely with him, I would be extremely surprised if we were in a position to be able to afford the 21-year-old this summer.
