Football Insider have claimed that Ange Postecoglou has decided to hand Bryan Gil regular minutes from now until the end of the season to give the winger a chance to showcase his qualities at Tottenham.
The fact that Gil ended up remaining at Spurs perhaps came as a surprise to many Spurs fans, with the youngster being heavily linked with loan moves to the likes of Brighton (Daily Mail) and Lazio (Daniele Trecca) in the final days of the window.
When asked about the Spaniard’s decision to stay, Ange Postecoglou told Football.London last week that it was not his role to “push people out” of the club and insisted that the 22-year-old could have a prominent role over the coming months.

Tottenham U-turn on Bryan Gil role
Football Insider have now explained that Tottenham made Gil available for a permanent transfer as well as a loan during the January transfer window.
However, it is revealed that the former Sevilla man rejected all approaches that came his way, including offers to return to Spain.
Following the player’s decision, it is said that Postecoglou has done a U-turn and is now prepared to hand Gil regular first-team minutes over the next few months.
Spurs Web Opinion
The fact that Ange brought Gil on against Everton is perhaps a sign that the Australian views the winger as a valuable member of the squad. However, once Son returns from the Asian Cup and the likes of Solomon and Lo Celso return to full fitness, I cannot see the Spaniard getting much game time.
