Report: Spurs man ruled out of Man United clash with back stress fracture

Tottenham Hotspur have received a blow ahead of their return to Premier League action this week, with The Telegraph revealing that Japhet Tanganga has been ruled out with a back stress fracture.

The suspension of the league has afforded the likes of Harry Kane, Heung-min Son, Steven Bergwijn, and Moussa Sissoko the time to get back to full fitness.

There was thus hope that Jose Mourinho might have had a fully fit squad to pick from when Spurs returned to action on June 19.

However, it has now been revealed that Tanganga could be out for several weeks, although the club are still said to be assessing how bad the defender’s injury is. It is said that Spurs still hope that the 21-year-old will be able to play before the end of the season.

Losing Tanganga is a major blow to the North Londoners considering that the defender has been a regular in the Spurs squad since the turn of the year, and has proven he can play across a number of positions across the backline.

Just when it looked like Jose might have a fully fit squad to choose from for the United clash, Dele has been suspended and Tanganga is now out injured. Hopefully, none of our other first-team stars go down with injuries over the coming weeks. However, based on our recent luck with injuries, I certainly would not count on it.
