Report: Spurs may be able to land AC Milan star after recent controversy

Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to strengthen their midfield this summer, especially after the sale of Mousa Dembele to the Chinese Super League.

In Dembele, Pochettino lost one of his most prominent midfield enforcers and creators, and an extremely difficult player to replace.

This problem could be intensified if the likes of Christian Eriksen also exit come the end of the season, leaving a huge hole in the Tottenham midfield.

One player who Spurs could plug the gap with is AC Milan midfield star Franck Kessie, a player Spurs were linked to in January.

Kessie recently made the headlines for all the wrong reasons in Italy after parading around a shirt given to him by Francesco Acerbi as a gesture of peace after full-time brawls.

Calcio Mercato claim that AC Milan may now be far more willing to part with Kessie after the controversy, with Spurs and Arsenal reportedly interested in the Ivorian.
