Report: Spurs may be considering 24-year-old as Harry Kane cover

Tottenham Hotspur have been handed an injury nightmare as Harry Kane was forced down the tunnel against Southampton on New Years Day.

Not only did Spurs lose the match at St Mary’s, but Kane managed to tear his hamstring while equalising for the Lilywhites, only to have it chalked off for offside.

Jose Mourinho will likely turn towards Heung Min Son and Lucas Moura in the short-term to cover for Kane, with 17-year-old Troy Parrott always a youthful option.

However, Calciomercato have now claimed that Spurs may be considering AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek as a potential replacement/cover for the England captain.

It is understood that Piatek is keen on remaining at AC Milan in order to fight for his place, but he is on the radar of Spurs and Jose Mourinho.

Last season, during spells at Milan and Genoa, Piatek bagged 30 goals across 42 games in all competitions, which may have caught the eye in North London (TransferMarkt).
