Report: Spurs may have already agreed terms with 26-year-old

According to a report from Football Insider, Ryan Fraser may have already agreed on terms with Tottenham Hotspur after the winger turned down a contract extension offered by Bournemouth.

Tottenham have been established as the favourites to land Fraser this summer (Mirror), although the winger is also said to be on the radar of club’s North London rivals, Arsenal (90min).

The Cherries confirmed this week that the 26-year-old will be leaving the Vitality Stadium when his deal runs out on June 30 after he turned down a short-term extension until the end of the season.

Football Insider have now revealed the reason behind why the Scotland international has turned down the deal offered by Eddie Howe’s side.

They claim that the winger was keen to avoid picking up an injury ahead of a big summer transfer.

The report suggests that Bournemouth believe Fraser has already agreed on terms with another Premier League club, thought to be either Spurs or Everton, over a summer transfer.

It is said that he refused to see out the season with Bournemouth in order to ensure he does not put that move in jeopardy.

Spurs Web Opinion

Even if Fraser has not already agreed on a summer transfer, I would presume he is pretty close to reaching an agreement with some club. I doubt he would turn down Bournemouth’s offer to extend his stay until the end of the season unless he knew that he was wanted elsewhere. It is anybody’s guess who the winger is close to joining, with us, Arsenal, and Everton all being heavily linked with a move for him. I certainly think he could be a decent squad option for us to have.
