According to a report in La Repubblica (as relayed by OneFootball), AS Roma have now launched an inquiry over Santiago Gimenez ahead of a potential summer move for the striker.

It has been widely reported over the last few weeks that Tottenham are prioritising signing a centre-forward this summer, with Gimenez thought to be one of the names at the top of the North London club’s wishlist ahead of the summer (GiveMeSport).
Tottenham are set for a summer striker search
Dean Jones handed Spurs a boost by telling Ranks FC Ultras Podcast last month that the Mexican international has his heart set on a move to the Premier League.
On June 2, Transfer expert Graeme Bailey told Rousing The Kop that Tottenham are favourites to beat Liverpool to the Feyenoord star’s signature this summer despite Arne Slot taking over at Anfield.

Roma make a move for Santiago Gimenez
If La Repubblica’s latest update is to be believed, Roma are looking to add a number nine to their squad this summer and admire Gimenez.
In fact, it is reported that the Giallorossi have ‘made enquiries’ over the 23-year-old’s availability over recent days as they plot a move to take him to the Stadio Olimpico.
However, it is pointed out that Feyenoord value their star marksman at €35m (£30m), with the asking price expected to prove too high for the Serie A club.

If Postecolgou is keen on landing Gimenez, the deal would not be very difficult to get over the line for Tottenham.
I am not convinced that the Mexican is at the top of either Ange’s or Johan Lange’s wishlist.
Tottenham need a striker who is proven in one of Europe’s big leagues, we have had both Vincent Janssen and Steven Bergwijn who both struggled when it came to trying to make an impression in the Premier League.
