Report: Spurs may have to compete with Crystal Palace if they want starlet

London World have become the latest publication to report on Crystal Palace’s interest in rumoured Tottenham target, Alex Scott, with the publication stating that the Eagles are ‘keen’ on snapping up the Bristol City starlet.

The speculation linking Scott with a move to Spurs has not quietened since the closure of the January transfer window, with the North London club allegedly continuing to have an eye on the teenager.

Football Insider reported last week that scouts from Tottenham have watched the midfielder in action at the Deepdale Stadium this season and have been extremely impressed.

The report added that they had told the Spurs hierarchy to lay the groundwork for a summer deal for the teenager as they fear that other Premier League clubs will swoop for him.

The Sun then revealed a couple of days ago that Palace and West Ham United are interested in Scott but suggested that neither club might be prepared to meet Birstol’s £20m asking price for the youngster.

London World have now also reported on Palace’s interest in the Championship starlet, with the Eagles said to have ‘checked up’ on the youngster.

The report states that Patrick Viera wants to add some fresh blood to his midfield ranks, with Luka Milivojevic and James McArthur both over 30 now, with Scott thought to be identified as a target.

The one disadvantage Spurs will have in the race for Scott’s signature is that the youngster will be aware that getting first-team opportunities at the North London club will be a lot more difficult than at West Ham or Palace. So, Paratici and co will have their work cut out in convincing the teenager to join the club.
