The Athletic have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur could wait until the new season starts before they sign a new striker.
Previous reports have indicated that Conte is keen to bring another big-name striker to Tottenham this summer to supplement Harry Kane (The Mirror).
Football.London’s Alasdair Gold reported last week that Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus, Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, Real Sociedad’s Alexander Isak, Benfica’s Darwin Nunez and Bayer Leverkusen’s Patrick Schick are all options for Spurs.
The Telegraph subsequently claimed that Conte has informed Fabio Paratici in the pair’s meeting on Friday that he wants to sign a versatile forward who is capable of operating in the wide areas.
The Athletic have now reported that Jesus is a target for Spurs but a deal for the Brazilian would be difficult to pull off since Man City are reluctant to sell the 25-year-old.
The report further claimed that signing a new forward is not as big a priority for Tottenham as additions in the other areas of the pitch, partly because Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski can deputise as a centre-forward if needed.
It is explained that although Spurs are hoping to do as much early business as possible to have players ready for the pre-season tour to South Korea, they may not bring in a striker until after the 2022/23 campaign has begun.

Spurs Web Opinion
Two wing-backs, a left centre-back, and a centre midfielder are arguably bigger priorities for Spurs this summer than a number eight and a forward, who are likely to be squad players rather than regular starters.
So, Conte might be insisting on additions at wing-back, centre-back and midfield being made ahead of pre-season while the Italian might be more patient when it comes to our pursuit of an attacking midfielder and a forward.
