Report: Spurs may submit offer for Inter Milan player before deadline today

CalcioMercatoWeb.it have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur could make a move for Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic before this evening’s transfer deadline.

The late drama that erupted on Monday morning over Spurs’ pursuit of Pedro Porro (The Athletic) has now cooled, with the right-back expected to be Tottenham’s second signing of the January window (Fabrizio Romano).

Dan Kilpatrick revealed on Sunday that Porro and Arnaut Danjuma are likely to be the club’s only two signings this window, with the North Londoners expected to put off reinforcements in midfield, centre-back and in goal, until the summer (Yahoo Sports).

However, CMW.it have now suggested that the Lilywhites could make a sensational late offer for Brozovic.

The report states that the experienced midfielder is no longer considered ‘irreplaceable’ or ‘non-transferable’ by Inter if a late offer comes their way, with the Serie A club having identified Franck Kessie as a potential replacement.

The publication adds that Spurs could come forward with an offer of €25m (£21.9m) for Brozovic while a late move by Juventus for the Croat is also on the cards.

Spurs Web Opinion

Spurs fans have to take this report with a pinch of salt as this would be a big late move to pull off. Besides, with Pape Matar Sarr now looking set to stay, I would be extremely surprised if Conte pushed to sign another midfielder before this evening’s deadline.
