Report: Spurs may use Eriksen to secure transfer target this summer

Tottenham Hotspur playmaker, Christian Eriksen, has certainly made his feelings clear this summer, as he told the Danish media that he wanted a new challenge and a step up from Spurs next season (Ekstra Bladet).

As a result, Spurs have been linked with Real Madrid attacking midfielder Dani Ceballos as a potential replacement for the Great Dane (Sky Sports).

This comes after the 22-year-old impressed on duty for Spain at the U21 European Championships this summer, eventually lifting the trophy.

However, Marca now claim that Madrid have changed their minds with regards to Ceballos, and may now want to keep him in the squad next season.

Football London suggest that Tottenham will use Christian Eriksen to secure a Ceballos deal if Real Madrid come in for the Spurs man.

It was rumoured earlier in the window that Real were preparing an offer of £45m plus Ceballos for Eriksen this summer (Sun).

However, the Guardian claim that it is increasingly likely that Eriksen will remain in North London beyond the summer, which could see him leave on a free in 2020.
