Report: Spurs midfielder asks his agent to find him a new club

According to a report from Football Insider, Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama has instructed his agent to find him a new club before the close of the European transfer window after holding talks with the club over his future.

The 28-year-old has apparently made up his mind to swap Tottenham for a new club after being overlooked in the club’s first two games of the season. The midfielder was not included in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad for the 2-2 draw against Manchester City last Saturday.

It is claimed that Bournemouth made an enquiry for Wanyama earlier in the summer but eventually chose to sign Philip Billing from Huddersfield instead.

The Kenyan international, who has two years left on his contract with the club, is reportedly keen on a move abroad to resurrect his career.

It is suggested that Spurs hold little hope of getting a big transfer fee for Wanyama due to his injury troubles and are ready to sanction a season-long loan deal with an option to buy next summer.

Wanyama was simply phenomenal during his first season at Tottenham and has has been extremely unfortunate with injuries during the last two seasons. With the arrival of Tanguy Ndombele and the emergence of Oliver Skipp, the 28-year-old now has little chance of winning back his place in the team.
