Report: Spurs midfielder completes move to Spanish club

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that they have reached an agreement with Atletico Baleares for the permanent transfer of Armando Shashoua.

The midfielder came through the Spurs academy set up, graduating through various different age-groups at the club.

Shashoua, who primarily operates as a box to box midfielder, did not make a first-team appearance during his time at Spurs.

However, he did feature 14 times for the development squad in the first half of last season, scoring five goals in that time (transfermarkt.com).

The 19-year-old was then loaned out to Atletico Baleares in January but only went on to make four appearances for the Spanish Segunda Division B outfit.

However, it appears that the youngster did enough during his loan spell to impress Atletico coach Manix Mandiola, as the Spanish club have now signed Shashoua for an undisclosed fee.

The teenager will join his brother, Samuel Shashoua, another Spurs academy graduate, who already plays in the Spanish Segunda Division for rivals, Tenerife.

Spurs Web Opinion

We will likely see many young players leave this summer as Jose and his coaching staff will work with and assess the players returning from loan. I expect the likes of Luke Amos and Cameron Carter-Vickers to follow Shashoua out the door shortly.
