Report: Spurs midfielder considering exit after being left stunned by Mourinho’s antics

Tottenham midfielder, Tanguy Ndombele, was reportedly left shocked when Jose Mourinho invited him for a run last week, according to a report in L’Equipe.

The pair were pictured training outdoors, defying the government’s rules to exercise only with people from the same household.

The Athletic reported the purpose of the training session wasn’t particularly to focus on fitness but rather to make the 23-year-old feel like an important part of the team.

L’Equipe (as relayed by Daily Mail) have now reported Ndombele’s version of events.

The report claims that Ndombele was stunned when the Spurs boss knocked on his front door and called him out for a run just moments after he had completed his individual training session.

It is asserted that the midfielder had barely left his home for the previous two weeks as a result of Britain’s lockdown but felt he had no choice but to obey Mourinho’s orders.

The controversy surrounding the incident has reportedly done little to ease tensions between the pair who were already said to have a troubled relationship.

The report suggests that Ndombele is considering his future at the club and could be tempted to join Barcelona if the Catalans follow through with their interest.

I can certainly understand why Ndombele would be left upset at receiving criticism for Mourinho’s decision to train publically. However, it is clear that the Spurs boss is doing all he can to help him turn around his fortunes at the club. It is also pretty apparent that Barcelona will not be able to afford him given the financial difficulties they are going through.
