Report: Spurs midfielder has now given the green light to join Serie A club

TuttoMercatoWeb have claimed that Giovani Lo Celso is keen to complete a switch to Napoli before the transfer window closes.

On Monday, we relayed a report from the print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness), which claimed that Napoli had still not given up their pursuit of Lo Celso.

In fact, it was explained that negotiations between Spurs and Napoli over the midfielder were ‘well advanced’ before the Premier League side temporarily suspended them to focus on Harry Kane’s sale.

With Kane having completed a move to Bayern, it was alleged that Tottenham could ‘resume’ talks with the Serie A club regarding the Argentine over the ‘coming days’.

Lo Celso wants to move to Napoli this summer

TMW have now also reported on Napoli’s interest in Lo Celso but they state that for the moment Tottenham are only interested in a permanent sale and are not considering loaning the midfielder out.

However, the outlet asserts that last season’s Scudetto winners still believe that a temporary deal for the 27-year-old is possible, with the player said to have a ‘strong’ desire to move to the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

The fact that the likes of Napoli and Barca continue to circle around Lo Celso suggests that Tottenham have given those clubs some indication that the Argentine could be available for sale.

That is perhaps a sign that Spurs want to sign an attacking midfielder such as Eberechi Eze or Brennan Johnson before the transfer window closes.
