Report: Spurs midfielder in talks join Premier League club

Football Insider have claimed that Harry Winks is in talks to join another Premier League club after being told by Nuno Espirito Santo that he can leave Tottenham.

Winks’ stock has fallen considerably over the last two years, with the midfielder struggling to get a run of matches under his belt under Jose Mourinho last season.

There have been a few mixed reports about the 25-year-old over the past few weeks, with some sources suggesting that Nuno is prepared to give him a chance while others have claimed that he is on his way out.

Football Insider have now revealed that the new Spurs boss has informed Winks that he will be a fringe player in the upcoming season.

It is stated that the 25-year-old could leave his boyhood club before the end of the transfer window after Nuno gave the green light to sell him to a Premier League rival.

Several clubs are said to be interested in the England international but the report does not mention which ones.

Negotiations are thought to be underway for Winks’ sale, with the report explaining that Tottenham value the midfielder at £30m. However, it is said that the North Londoners might have to accept a lower fee.

Spurs Web Opinion

The fact that Winks was not involved in the pre-season friendly against MK Dons yesterday could be viewed as a sign that there is some truth to this report.

It is fair to say that most Spurs fans would be happy to take £20-£25m for Winks after his decline over the past couple of years.
