Report: Spurs midfielder linked with move away is ‘not particularly liked’ at the club

Amidst reports linking Giovani Lo Celso with a move away from Tottenham, The Evening Standard have reported that the Argentine is ‘not particularly liked’ at the club.

Antonio Conte left Lo Celso out of Tottenham’s matchday squad against Chelsea, with the midfielder subsequently posting an Instagram story (23/01/22) to confirm that his absence was not down to injury.

Since then, reports have emerged that Sevilla are looking to snap up the 25-year-old before the transfer window closes (Football.London).

The Independent claimed on Monday that Conte has grown weary of Lo Celso’s inability to follow instructions to the level required.

The Evening Standard have now suggested that the former Real Betis man is not a particularly popular figure at the club.

The report states that the Argentina international has looked ‘increasingly hesitant’ on each return from injury.

It is also explained that Spurs are under pressure to get their signings right this window as the club expect to make huge losses on Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele, who cost a combined £110m.

Spurs Web Opinion

We are still paying for the massive mistakes we made in the summer transfer window of 2019. None of Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso, Ryan Sessegnon or Jack Clarke have proven to be worth what we paid for them.

One can say the same thing about the Emerson and Gil singings that we made last summer, although both players have time to put things right.

So, it is not just a matter of spending more money over the next two windows. We need to ensure that our recruitment is prudent.
