Report: Spurs midfielder ruled out for two months with knee injury

According to Football Insider, Tottenham midfielder Jamie Bowden has been sidelined for up to two months after suffering an injury blow.

The report reveals that the 19-year-old suffered a medial knee ligament injury while training at Hotspur Way this week.

The medical staff at Spurs expect the youngster to be out of action for eight weeks after assessing the injury. This comes as a big blow for Bowden, who is rated highly by the coaching staff at Spurs.

The midfielder, who joined the club at the age of six, is yet to make a competitive first-team appearance for the side but he has been named on the bench for multiple Carabao Cup matches.

Bowden was also involved in several of Tottenham’s pre-season friendlies this summer and it was reported last month that multiple Championship and League One clubs were interested in signing him on loan.

However, with the midfielder now bring ruled out of action until the end of November, the prospect of a loan move looks to have become more complicated.

Spurs Web Opinion

This is a real shame for Bowden as he was among the players I was most impressed by during our pre-season campaign. A loan move to a bottom half Championship side or a top-half League One side would have been ideal for him but it now looks like he will have to wait until the second half of the campaign to get his move.
