Report: Spurs midfielder set to be handed a new contract at the club

Jose Mourinho has only been in charge for a month but Spurs fans can already see that he is beginning to develop favourites in North London.

The Special One favours a front four of Heung Min Son, Harry Kane, Dele Alli, and Lucas Moura, when all are fit and available.

Mourinho has also reintroduced Eric Dier as a consistent fixture in the starting line-ups over the past month, a man who had dropped to a squad player towards the end under Poch.

Dier was taken off at half time in the woeful match at home to Chelsea at the weekend, and he was also hooked just 29 minutes into the Champions League game against Olympiacos.

However, it seems that Mourinho is very keen on the 25-year-old, and the Telegraph now report that Dier is set to be handed a new contract at the club.

The new deal is said to be worth £75,000 per week, with his current contract running out in 2021.
