Report: Spurs midfielder set to complete loan move to English club

Tottenham midfielder Jamie Bowden is set to join Oldham Athletic on a season-long deal, Football Insider report.

After coming through the ranks in the Spurs academy, Bowden made his first-team bow for the Lilywhites in a pre-season friendly against Girona in 2018 when Mauricio Pochettino was in charge.

Although the midfielder is yet to make a competitive appearance for the senior side, he did make the matchday squad for Tottenham’s Europa League tie against Wolfsberger AC last season.

The 20-year-old impressed for the club’s Under-23s last campaign, scoring two goals and setting up another couple in the 15 appearances he made.

The youngster, who has also featured in pre-season under Nuno Espirito Santo, now looks set for a temporary move away from Hotspur Way.

Football Insider claim that Oldham Athletic have now struck a deal with the North Londoners to sign the youngster on loan.

Bowden will be hoping to get some vital experience under his belt at the League Two side, who finished 18 in the table last season, just nine points above the relegation zone.

Bowden certainly will not be the last player to leave Spurs on loan this summer. With Nuno and his staff now getting their first look at many of the young players at the club, one would expect the Portuguese coach to make a decision on several of their futures over the next couple of weeks.
