Report: Spurs player set to tie up £13.6million exit today

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama will today travel to Belgium to tie up a transfer to Club Brugge.

The Daily Mail report that the 28-year-old will join for a fee of £13.6million and put pen to paper on a five year contract.

Wanyama was not included in the Spurs match day squad for yesterday’s 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United.

The report claims that a number of clubs including Serie A outfit Bologna were interested in taking the Kenyan international on loan, but Spurs would only entertain discussions for a permanent deal.

He moved to White Hart Lane in June 2016 for £11million and enjoyed a successful first season at the club in a midfield alongside Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele but has since seen his career blighted by injury.

Knee problems have limited his involvement in Mauricio Pochettino’s side and only made 13 Premier League appearances last season (BBC).

He has fallen down in the pecking order in North London with Tanguy Ndombele, Harry Winks, Moussa Sissoko, Oliver Skipp and Eric Dier all likely to be ahead of him.
